CALM BEFORE THE STORM

A dispersed Vulcan sits waiting for its call to arms. The aircraft is fuelled, armed and awaiting the signal nobody wants.
During the Cold War the Avro Vulcan was one of three aircraft types referred to as the “V” force. Their mission was to deliver Great Britain’s nuclear deterrent should doomsday ever come. Thankfully it never did and now XM655 is one of three Vulcans still in ground running condition. XM655 is a magnificent example and well worth a visit.
